No. 14 in Miami, Florida Hurricanes Preview

The fields are case are underway and the regular season here soon, so that means you're a jump in the initial phase of the 2006 NCAA football season. Knowing the teams now to save time and Matt Fargo is here to help create awareness of what to expect, that the next year. They go from worst to first this preview 2006 College Football.

No. 14 - Miami (Florida) Hurricanes 9-3 SU, 4-8 ATS

Jump Starter

Fargo Take Eight losses in the last three seasons, Miami has to falter. For any other program thatwould happen, but not here. After losing 40-3 to LSU in the Peach Bowl outbreak, changes have been made six co-trainers have been shown the door. The offense had its severe outcome in a decade last season, but had only four starters back and a new quarterback, which should be expected. But apparently it was not good enough to justify, as three new offensive assistants, including offensive coordinator Rich Olson, were set to the right of the ship. Kyle Wright is oneJunior and he should only get better with his first year under his belt. The defense was as good as ever, but that loss to close the year with the safety of the Tigers' some heads. The goal in 2006 is simple. Get the ACC championship, it did not reach last season and fight for the national championship.

Returning starter on offense - averaging 27.1 points per game 5 in Miami last year, would be something to what many other programs in an instant, but put the Hurricanes 55in the country in scoring offense, from 21 in 2004. Changes were made to the offense, or employees have been made in the hope to return some 'of that Moxie. There are directors on the pitch, but many of them fall short of expectations last season, especially the receivers. Ryan Moore, Lance Leggett and Darnell Jenkins are able, the best group around, but all three need to step up. Wright led the ACC in touchdowns but has also thrown 10 interceptions to complete only 58.6 percent ofhis passport. Tyrone Moss rushed for 701 yards jam, but was injured eight games into the season. The offensive line allowed 36 sacks and only one member of this line is back. All these factors have resulted in an average season, but all are quite easily solved with the thought that Miami is going to breakout this season.

Returning starters for the defense - 6 The defense was fourth in both scoring and total from last season and this match up against LSU, the machine was allowed more than 17Points only once and that was a great game against Clemson. The defense will still be the best in the ACC, with the best group of linemen, linebackers and secondary rank. The defensive line is bringing two starters with Baraka Atkins and Bryan Pata, two of the best finishes in the conference to tackle Kareem Brown to Sunday during the game in the coming year. Jon Beason is the only starter back to linebacker, but three players have returned from injury to make the unit extremelysolid. Be secondary to that which led the nation in passing defense last season is hard once again led by Brandon Meriweather and Kenny Phillips side. The corners are the concerns, but Glenn Sharpe was again 100 percent healthy.

Calendar The calendar depends really good or really bad depending on how hurricanes start the season. Florida, Miami is home in his opening and then travels to St. Louisville two weeks later. A loss of one of these games are not as evil as evillate-season loss, but it will be a tough fight. If the Hurricanes win both, you can browse the rest of the way up to the Fiesta Bowl. Florida A & M, Houston and Florida International, all home games, the non-conference round program. The rest of the list is pretty tame ACC with the toughest game for a home game against Virginia Tech. The games consist of road from Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Virginia. Two of the first three games will dictate the rest of theSeason.

You can bet ... Miami has won five straight against Florida St. opposite of last season, losing three points. The Hurricanes get to host this year's edition, but will be a few players. Moss and Moore were suspended for this, and will certainly affect the crime "under a microscope." Pulling this off will only become more difficult. Hurricanes are not losers, on street, very often, but when they are healthy. Miami is 6-1 ATS as a road dog since 1999 and couldvery well in this place from September 16 in Louisville. In contrast, only 7-17 hurricanes in the past four years as a local hero and against the Seminoles in the opening Test as a 3-point chalk.
