The Duracell 2 AMP Battery Maintainer is part of a family of ultra-compact, light weight and modern power inverters and chargers from Battery-Biz Inc. The Duracell line of Battery Chargers features rapid charge technology for faster, more accurate charging, and do not require installation or set up. The simple plug-and-charge solution makes these chargers ideal for extending and recharging all types of 12-volt lead acid batteries. The three stage charging process ensures the battery is always fully charged, but never overcharged.
Duracell Battery Chargers utilize a microprocessor-controlled three-stage charging method which significantly extends the battery life. Multistage charging ensures that batteries receive optimum charging with minimal wear and tear by regulating the voltage and current delivered to the batteries in three automatic stages: Bulk, Absorption and Float. The bulk charging stage replaces 70-80% of the battery's state of charge at the fastest possible rate. After that the absorption charging stage replenishes the remaining 20-30% of charge, bringing the battery to a full charge at a slow, safe rate. Finally, at the float charging stage, the voltage is reduced and held constant in order to prevent damage and keep batteries at full charge.
